We are a growing company currently building a dedicated staff who will help us grow. We are looking for a dedicated produce buyer who promotes and implements our company values while providing leadership and strategic direction to our team.

    Description

    • ensure that products are purchased from approved vendors, ensuring highest quality, variety and freshness at the best possible cost
    • negotiate and collaborate with suppliers on pricing, product assortment, promotions, ads, services, promotional calendars, and support; acts as primary contact with direct suppliers
    • explore buying opportunities with local markets and specialty growers
    • manage inventory, shrink, & service levels to meet or exceed company expectations
    • manage purchase decisions and order fulfillment to meet company goals
    • monitor and report items/categories/business trends in the industry & maintain awareness of market trends, technology, & weather across all categories & growing regions
    • responsible for gathering food safety and organic certification documents from suppliers
    • participating in and or facilitating vendor business reviews
    • maintain awareness of our company’s marketing strategies and competitor’s activities & pricing
    • manage & review current suppliers’ performances and work diligently with them to improve
    • ensure buying information is maintained, including daily price change and new item information
    • maintain and review price files and competitive price checks to ensure we have costs that allow us to be priced competitively within each market we operate

    Qualifications

    • bachelor degree preferred
    • 3+ years produce buying experience including exposure to all categories
    • experience in procurement, replenishment or merchandising
    • must be familiar with health department guidelines and regulations as they pertain to a grocery retail environment
    • knowledge of organic certification regulations and commercial and organic growing practices
    • strong understanding of product costing concepts and cost management skills
    • ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously
    • ability to work independently to determine and apply appropriate policies and procedures and recognize the critical financial impacts to the business
    • ability to adapt to the ever-changing high volume retail while working in a cross-functional team environment
    • excellent written communication and documentation skills
    • excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills for maintaining effective business relationships with peers, senior management, customers, and vendors
    • must have knowledge with ms office including outlook, word, and excel
    • ability to multitask and have excellent organizational skills is essential
    • ability to lead, support and contribute to team goals
    • ability to work varied hours/days as business dictates
    • ability to travel independently when necessary

  • Juice & Coffee Bar Manager

    Our coffee and juice department is in need of an assistant manager with the potential to become manager. We serve all organic juices, real fruit smoothies, full espresso bar, hand-scooped ice cream, and draft kombucha – making for a dynamic operation that is never boring. We have a fun and friendly staff who make the juice/coffee bar feel like home and are seeking someone to fit into and lead our dynamic.

    Our ideal candidate will have experience managing in a high volume environment, love the challenge that comes with being busy, and enjoy working with a broad set of personalities. Candidates will need to have excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills and the ability to foster growth while balancing larger store goals.

    Responsibilities:

    • ensure quality, control, and consistency
    • train, coach, and develop staff
    • create and maintain a safe and sanitary workplace according to health code regulations
    • create and maintain a positive, inspiring work culture based on communication and teamwork

    Experience:

    • two years in management or leadership position
    • two years in fast-paced food service environment
    • proficient knowledge in coffee and espresso drinks
    • proficient knowledge in fruit/vegetable varieties, combinations, and vitamin boosts

    Candidates must be able to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Candidates must also be able to meet physical demands of the position including: standing for extended periods of time, carrying up to 50 pounds, bending, pulling, pushing, etc.

    • performs scan audits according to schedule
    • maintains clean and organized work area
    • quickly and accurately making signs as needed • works closely with front end cashiers and supervisors regarding scan accuracy

    • experience with adobe suites (photoshop, indesign) a plus
